Tahoe is getting ready for a week of large weather events that could drop up to 10 feet of snow in the region. Although this is awesome news for skiers and boarders it is also a time to make sure you are prepared as the roads are going to be bad, visibility is going to be non-existant as snow rates are supposed to be 1-2 inches per hour for most of the week, and most likely power will be lost at some point.
My checklist:
*Make Sure you have plenty of food, the stores may run out of certain items, especially stock up on non-perishables
*Make sure to fill up your propane tank or stock up on briquettes for your grill as you might loose power and have to use your grill to cook
*Make sure you have flashlights with fresh batteries and candles readily available in case of a power outage
*In some areas where electric pumps are needed for water you will want to make sure that you have water on hand for drinking and flushing toilets as water may not be available if the power goes out
*Check the weather forecast frequently:

Tahoe Weather Blog: http://northstarsnow.blogspot.com/
*Check road conditions from CalTrans: http://www.dot.ca.gov/cgi-bin/roads.cgi
*Make sure your skis are waxed up, be safe, and have fun in the snow!
**Remember to ski/ride with a buddy!
