Tahoe Newsletter Update July 2009

I just finished up my new weekly Tahoe Newsletter which you can view HERE!  The newsletter is a great tool for me as it helps my clients, friends, and leads learn about Lake Tahoe.  I like to incorporate music, events, business, and lifestyle.  I try and include a little about the people that live here as well. Hopefully, this helps give people a sense of what’s going on in Lake Tahoe even if they can’t come up for a visit and also creates a buzz for events and activities in the area.

Matt Reardon

This week I Congratulate Matt Reardon for signing a record deal with Suburban Noize Records! Matt is a local professional skier and musician. He spends a good amount of time each year over in Europe tearing it up on stage and on the mountains. You can see Matt at the Alpine Ski & Music Festival on August 14th at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

In the recent newsletter, I posted a POV (point of view) video that I made on an awesome ride last Sunday known as “Hole in the Ground.” I love to showcase the activities I participate in by using photos and videos so that I can give my viewers a sense of who I am. I hope you enjoy the video!

Tahoe Buyers Increase

In the last few months in Tahoe and Truckee, we have seen an increase in the number of home buyers looking at homes.  There have been 58 closed sales in July alone with 92 homes under contract.  And, prices in some Tahoe neighborhoods are showing signs of stability. With interest rates as low as they are, this is a great time for buyers to take advantage of the opportunities this unique area of California offers.

First-Time Home Buyers

First-time home buyers need to be aware that if they are thinking of buying a house in the next 2 years, this is the time! If you are a first-time home buyer or have not owned a home in the last 3 years then you can qualify for the $8,000 first-time buyer Federal Tax credit. In order to qualify, you need to close escrow by November 30th, 2009! Typical escrow is taking between 30-45 days. That means that you need to start looking now if you want to take advantage of this huge opportunity.
