2014 Theme: Bringing Back the 80’s!

Every spring since 1982, SnowFest! has delivered 10 fun-filled days and nights to the North Lake Tahoe communities. This year, get into the 80’s theme and bust out your neon, stonewashed jeans, side pony tails, crop tops and leg warmers. Participants can enjoy events both on and off the mountain every day from February 29th – March 9th, at North Tahoe’s numerous resorts and vibrant lakeside neighborhoods.

	Garwoods Polar Bear Swim When: Sat, March 1, 2:30pm – 5:00pm Where: Garwoods Grill & Pier – 5000 N. Lake Blvd. Description: The 25th Annual Polar Bear Swim will be North Lake Tahoe’s “Coolest” event! Hundreds of spectators will line the pier to watch hardy souls brave the firgid waters of Lake Tahoe. Complementary appetizers are provided for all, and following the event is the hugely popular raffle in the bar at Gar Woods. Swim participants can also enjoy the hot tubs provided by Pomin’s Hot Tubs. Swimmers can register ahead at www.Garwoods.com.

	Tahoe City SnowFest! Parade When: Sat, March 1, 11:30am – 12:30pm Where: Downtown Tahoe City Description: This fun, eclectic, mountain town feeling parade has something for everyone! From shoveler to clowns, dogs, kids and snow machines… it’s definitely a fun, and rowdy day in Tahoe City.

	Space Cowboys & the Unimog When: Sat, March 1, 1pm-5pm Where: KT Base Bar Deck, Olympic Valley, CA Description: Spend the day dancing to the Space Cowboys! Enjoy the thumping beats and don’t forget to dress in your fun festive, furs and frills!

	38th Annual Great Ski Race When: Sun, March2, 7:00am – 12:30pm Where: Tahoe X-C Center, Highlands, Tahoe City Description: The Great Ski Race® is the main fund raising event for the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, a non-profit all-volunteer organization. Team members, along with community supporters, organize The Great Ski Race®, which continues to be one of the largest Nordic ski races west of the Mississippi.

	River Ranch Snow Sculpture Contest When: Sun, March 9, 12pm – 5pm Where: River Ranch Lodge Description: 3 person teams design and build snow sculptures on the River Ranch Patio! This is a competition against other teams for prizes…and they come up with some wacky, and innovative ideas for this one! There is live music, food & drink specials…and a LARGE charity raffle with proceeds benefiting Disabled Sports. Team entry: $25 / team
