Tahoe Luxury Home Sales are up 47% in 2016
Lake Tahoe real estate is the strongest it has been since the economy imploded. Sales volume is up 17% this year alone! We had a great winter for the first time in 4 years, Lake Tahoe is above its natural rim, the Bay Area economy continues to provide stability to the Lake Tahoe second home market and 30 year fixed interest rates are still below 4%. All of these factors are driving demand for Tahoe and Truckee real estate and the market is the healthiest it has been in years. Sales of luxury homes are up 47% showing that wealthy buyers are confident in the Tahoe real estate market. We are seeing a tremendous amount of competition in the sub $600K price ranges and a higher level of multiple offer situations. With the summer selling season just getting under way, I anticipate that the market will continue to show strength as buyers are hungry for Tahoe real estate.
